Tucked away a couple of miles from the Bay, Willows High School is living up to its motto of Belong, Believe, Achieve. Under the leadership of its new Head Teacher, the school has been on a rapid journey of improvement for the past three years. Visitors to the school regularly comment on how polite, friendly and helpful pupils are. Headteacher Joy Ballard said ‘We believe that our pupils are very special. We know that if they take pride in their school and value their learning we can raise their aspirations and belief in themselves to ensure they achieve their learning goals and fulfil their dreams. Every pupil counts at Willows. The school knows that if young people are to achieve their full potential then they need to feel happy and safe at school.’

At Willows, all pupils are known by name and the school is rightly proud of the excellent teacher/pupil relationships that exist, relationships that are based on trust and mutual respect.
Willows also prides itself on the quality of its award winning teachers. Gareth Ritter, Leader of Learning at Willows who recently won a national teaching award for the innovative use of technology in the classroom said ‘Willows is a great place to work as a teacher. The potential of our pupils is enormous with many of them achieving As and A*s.’ This success is demonstrated further across the school with some pupils achieving higher grade passes as early as in Year 9.
Willows welcomes visitors to the school. Please contact us for further information.
